Sketch #54

Hello there everyone!

It's starting to feel like winter again here in Germany, we even got a dusting of snow last night....we've had a couple of weeks of nice, bearable weather, now its starting to feel like Christmas all over again lol....Since it's so cold outside, my Aidan and I stay inside and do fun crafts together! He is a Play-Doh addict and I make my cards while he's in play mode. I am astonished to see that we can both play at the dining room table together without getting in each other's way....or making a bigger mess!

This week's sketch is for week 54, and you can find the sketch for it here. My take on it was inspired by the focal point seminar posted on the OWH blog, but looks a little different than the sketch because I couldn't find a scrap piece of paper that went with the colors I used, but also didn't compete too much with the red and yellow I already had going on....I hope it looks ok as is though! I have a whole stock pile of cartoon stickers, so I think I will be making a lot more cards like this!

I love to be able to help our deployed heroes write and send some love home to the special kids in their lives!

Hope you are all having a beautiful week, and for those of you getting all that snow back home, I hope you don't have to go out in it, but if you do, try to stay warm and safe!
Happy crafting,

sketch #53 & kids cards

Hello everyone!

Here is week #53 for Operation Write Home! I have also combined it with the Mid-week throwdown, Cards for Kids. This week's sketch was a blast to do, it helped me get rid of some more scraps too, which is a real good deal because we are getting ready to move back to the states next month, and the less I have to take back with me the better! I made 10 cards this week using this sketch, and I think they all turned out beautiful!! I hope you enjoy them too!!

sketch 52 and the new 34

Hey there everyone :)

I think I have forgotten about sketch 51 lol, but if I find it, I will def be posting! I have forgotten how much inspiration I get just from looking at all of the other beautiful cards you ladies post! They are just awesome!

Here is this week's sketch, #52, bringing about 1 full year of sketches! I didnt't have a circle punch to add to the sketch itself, but used the ribbon as an accent piece anyway :) I just love my little snowman card!!

Also, I tried the optional sketch #34, and came up with this: a super cute baby card :)

Now I am off to figure out what to do for sketch #53!! Hope you all had a beautiful weekend and have an even more beautiful week ahead!!
Happy Crafting!

My New Year's Resolution for OWH

Hello everyone! I can't believe it's been almost 4 months since I've blogged about any Operation Write Home cards! I have definitely been slacking and even though I'm not very proud of that, I am making a comeback and 2011 is going to be better than ever!

My New Year's resolution for OWH this year is:
1) To make cards using ONLY materials from my scrap bin! (embellishments not included, lol) It has grown and grown these past few months on account of me opening my own paper crafts business, Paper Crafts by Turtle but I have also been catching up on scrapbooking a lot too!

2) I made 556 cards for OWH last year, starting in February, so my goal is to at least beat it even if it's only by 1 card! I managed to make 310 for the birthday bash last year, so I'm hoping that's where a lot of my comeback will come this year as well!

Anyway, I have posted here my very first OWH card of 2011 along with a couple more which I just absolutely love! I hope you enjoy and I will be here weekly starting this coming Sunday with sketch challenge #51!

Thanks so much for your time and lovely comments, I have missed them!
